≡ Development Process
The creative process in globally distributed teams opens the door to several permutations in terms of how artists work together. Due to the Internet, barriers of distance and disparate time zones have broken down.
Development Process
During the course of 12 weeks, each hub will work on material from 3-4 writers. Paths of 12 writers from the hubs shown below:
* Each writer receives an hour of presentation time from each hub – a total of 3 hours. This does not include the time that hubs spend working with the writer on the material.
* The writer chooses how to use that hour – i.e., how much material to present and time left for feedback from 3 hubs simultaneously. For example, UK Writer 1 may present a half hour of material and ask for a half hour of feedback. NY Writer 3 may want to spend the entire hour presenting the first act of a play and ask for written notes from each hub later.
* Each writer has approximately a month before presenting again, therefore allowing for rewrites.
* All writers have the chance to work with talent in all three hubs.
Because this initiative is breaking new ground, the development process may be tweaked or changed. We expect to hone the development process through successive iterations.
Feedback Loop
The three hubs will come together on a regular basis to provide feedback on work that’s been done in the other hubs. These discussions will take place simultaneously in the three cities via live video streams knitted together in one channel.
Innovative Storytelling
LoNyLa will encourage artists to innovate on form, using multimedia to either tell or present the story.
