≡ Objectives, Reach, Standards

TimeWave aims to:

  • Promote intercultural dialogue and collaboration;
  • Inspire creative innovation and experimentation;
  • Provide instruction on the use of technology in performance;
  • Leverage the Internet to reach to remote audiences; and,
  • Expose audiences to diverse cultural experiences and viewpoints.
  •

    Extending Reach via the Net

    The festival will be broadcast over the Internet, allowing anyone with an Internet connection to watch live performances by simply clicking a URL. Recordings of new work will also be posted online, so audiences who miss performances will have 24/7 access to festival events.

    TimeWave will encourage artists and audiences to interact on the web via commentary on the work, artists’ interviews, behind-the-scenes footage, chat boards and forums.

    Production Values – Depending on the initiative and the resources available to remote artists, production values may vary. At minimum, we expect participating artists in other regions and time zones to broadcast staged readings.

    Camera setupsBroadcasting Standards -The three levels of broadcast quality for live events are: basic webcam coverage; use of a high-definition video camera to replace the webcam; and, three-camera coverage via a Tricaster.

    We aim to equip London with a multi-camera set-up. The broadcasting quality of remote artists will depend on available resources.
