Description: What happens in a black hole when you scream?

Nothing.

In a black hole one can scream, but they will never be heard. What happens (or doesn't happen) when we scream against injustice but no one hears? What have we learned from the deaths of Trayvon Martin, Amadou Diallo, Sean Bell, and Emmett Till? "Outcry," written by Thais Francis and directed by Christopher Burris, poses these exact questions. Join us for a limited run at The Red Room Theatre, 85 E. 4th St. 3rd Floor,New York, NY. September 6th-9th 8pm.

Thais Francis NYU '12 (Playwright-Performer)

Thais is a 2012 graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, where she received her BFA in Drama. She is an actor/dancer/singer and instrumentalist. Her writings have been featured at various conferences, symposiums and university’s nationwide including The Prindle Institute for Ethics at Depauw University and the Congressional Black Caucus. She has been honored by the Root Magazine as one of the 25 under 25 Top Innovators for 2011. As an actress, dancer and singer she has performed at Radio City Music Hall, the National Black Theater Festival, the Historic Warner Theater and has toured internationally with the play “Da Kink in my Hair”. She is at the beginning of her journey, and quite excited to see what the future holds.
