LoNyLa

Submission Process

Velocity seeks scripts with a strong vision, an original voice and a captivating human story. We support innovation and risk-taking in all mediums – stage, film and television – and do not discriminate between the mediums. If the dramatic narrative is compelling and the artist is committed to exploring his or her material, we are interested in reading the submission.

For Velocity Lab 2012, submissions are limited to LoNyLa membership in New York, LA and Singapore. However, LoNyLa members can introduce submissions from writers outside of membership for consideration. As the lab evolves, we hope to open submissions across-the-board in subsequent years.

Submissions for British artists only are open.

Deadline: September 1, 2012. (Please note the deadline has been extended from August 15.)

In order for Velocity Lab to evaluate your submission, please include the following:

1) One-page artistic statement (double-spaced) that explains your creative process, the status of the project (i.e., the stage of the script’s development) and goal for the lab.

2) A full-length stage play, screenplay or teleplay. No specification on font size but please make the script readable for the average person as a courtesy.

3) One-page synopsis and character/cast list.

4) One-page CV or hyperlink to CV

Note: The material must not have had a professional production, or be scheduled to have a professional production, prior to September 2012. A professional production means that the artists working on the show have been compensated.

Please do mail submission material *electronically* to [email protected]. In the spirit of preserving the planet, we do not accept submissions via post.

British actors and directors who desire to participate in Velocity Lab should mail CVs to [email protected].

Announcement of Velocity Lab 2012 projects will be made by September 17, 2012.

Thank you for your interest.
