A network, creative lab, producing organization and broadcasting platform, LoNyLa links artists globally to collaborate, develop and present new work for stage, film, TV and transmedia.

LoNyLa combines four main components – community, content development, production and distribution – of the performing arts and entertainment value chain.
By tapping into the power of the Internet, LoNyLa:
I. The network – An international community of artists that uses real-time video streaming, multimedia applications and other digital devices to expose new work to audiences beyond home locales.
II. The lab – The LoNyLa vLab enables artists to develop full-length projects over a three-month period. By traveling virtually to three linked hubs – London, New York and Los Angeles – writers are exposed to different creative approaches and processes. Actors and directors across borders (state and national) interact in real-time.
III. The producing organization – As LoNyLa evolves, we intend to produce new work developed in our annual vLab as well as material that results from cross-cultural collaboration. Initiatives may range from a single production to an international festival of new work. As the network extends towards the Middle and Far East, we aim to translate texts so they can be experienced by Western audiences.
IV. The broadcasting platform – The first generation of the vLab made use of high-definition video cameras to stream rehearsed readings. As video streaming platforms grow more robust, we intend to migrate to the multi-camera set-up used in television broadcasts. Inexpensive, portable Tricasters enable arts and culture organizations to reach mainstream broadcasting standards on the web.
Science and industry have been using globally distributed teams to solve an array of problems and create new products. The underlying principles are just as applicable to artists in the 21st century.
